No matter if you’re looking for events that take place in full-blown air conditioning or a music festival that celebrates the art of floating on the river, there’s an event in Texas with your name on it this summer.
Here are 48 can’t-miss festivals and events taking place across Texas in the summer of 2024.
New Faces of Pride Festival and Parade in Houston
What: The New Faces of Pride Festival and Parade celebrates diversity, inclusion and empowerment. The 2024 event will include live music performances by headliners like Lauren Sanderson, Billy Gilman and Chris Housman.
When: Saturday, June 22. The festival will start at noon while the parade will start at 7:30 p.m.

What: Learn about the history and future of Black farming in Texas at this Juneteenth festival at a historic African American farm in Dallas. Attendees can partake in workshops, arts and crafts, play games and enjoy live entertainment.

Lubbock Pride Fest
What: Celebrate Pride Month at Lubbock Pride Fest. This family-friendly event includes a day of fun, food, music, live entertainment and various drag performances. The mainstage show is suitable for attendees of all ages while the Afterhours show is for those 18 and older.
When: Saturday, June 22.
Where: Lubbock Arts District, Lubbock, Texas.
Admission: Attendees ages 13 and older must pay $1 at the gate to enter. Attendees who are 12 and younger may attend for free with a paid adult. This aims to help protect attendees and keep protesters outside of the festival gates. Once you get a wristband, you can leave and re-enter the grounds at your leisure.
Pride Fest 2024 at Ascarate Park
What: Celebrate Pride Month at Pride Fest 2024 in El Paso, Texas. This year’s event will feature three performance stages, two of which will be under a canopy for shade and cooled by swamp coolers to elevate the festival experience for attendees.
There will be food trucks, a vendor square with more than 40 local vendors, a community park where nonprofits can hand out information and more.
When: Saturday, June 22, at 1 p.m.

Annual Luling Watermelon Thump
What: The Luling Watermelon Thump is an iconic festival in Luling that honors the town’s agricultural heritage and local tradition. The four-day event includes a watermelon-eating contest, a seed-spitting competition, live entertainment, carnival rides, a beer garden, an exhibitors market, a car show and more.
Reminder: There is a clear bag policy in effect. Clear bags can be no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. Small clutches and fanny packs are permitted so long as they are no larger than 6 inches by nine inches.

Ennis Freedom Fest
What: Witness what’s been dubbed the “most beautiful fireworks display in all of Texas” at the Ennis Freedom Fest. The event starts with the Red, White and Bike Parade in downtown Ennis on Saturday, June 29. The fireworks show will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Park and will start once it’s dark out. The gates for the park will open at 6 p.m. There will be free rock climbing, paddle boats, inflatables, live music performances and more.
When: Saturday, June 29. The parade starts at 10 a.m. in downtown Ennis, while the gates for the fireworks show open at 6 p.m. Live music starts at 7:30 p.m.

Taylor Pride Music & Art Festival
What: Celebrate the final days of Pride Month at the Taylor Pride Music & Art Festival. As Williamson County’s first Pride celebration, the event aims to bring together the LGBTQ+ community and allies through advocacy and inclusion. The festival will include art booths, crafts, live music performances, activities, food and drink for purchase and more.
When: Saturday, June 29, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Heritage Square Park, 400 N. Main St., Taylor, Texas.
Admission: Free. Donations can be made to support Taylor Pride and community outreach initiatives.
Houston’s 46th Annual Official Pride Parade
What: Join hundreds of thousands of festivalgoers at Houston’s 46th Annual Official Pride Parade. At the oldest and largest Pride celebration in Texas, attendees can expect live entertainment from performers like David Archuleta, Kayla G, Brooke Eden and K. Michelle and an epic parade to round out the event.
When: Saturday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Gates to the festival open at 11 a.m. The parade starts at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Houston City Hall, 901 Bagby St., Houston, Texas.
Admission: Admission to the festival for those ages 21 to 43 is $5 if purchased online in advance. Admission to the festival is free for those under the age of 21 and over the age of 55. What: Get your beer-drinking on at the Sun City Craft Beer Fest. There will be over 170 beers to try and attendees can also play games, listen to music and so much more.

Luckenbach 4th of July Bash & Vendor Market
What: Celebrate the Fourth of July in true Texas fashion at Luckenbach’s 4th of July Bash & Vendor Market. This event will feature a Willie Nelson look-alike contest, art contests, face painting, vendor and artist shopping, dance lessons, live music, a wagon parade and more.

Freedom Over Texas
What: Freedom Over Texas is a massive Fourth of July celebration in Houston. The six-hour event features live music performances by notable names like Chapel Hart, Jo Dee Messina, Mathias Lattin and Russell Dickerson, to name a few. The event will also conclude with a musically choreographed, Texas-sized fireworks show. A portion of proceeds from food and drink sales will be donated to the Houston Food Bank.

What: When it comes to live music, nothing beats free! There will be a free concert series throughout July at the Pan Am Neighborhood Park in East Austin starting Tuesday, July 9. Attendees should bring blankets and chairs. There will be refreshments for sale and free activities for children.

Hot Summer Nights will feature more than 125 musical acts that will perform at 14 venues in downtown Austin during the event.

What: The Hempstead Watermelon Festival is a two-day celebration to honor the crop that made Hempstead famous — watermelons! What: It’s better to celebrate Pride fashionably late than never! The 2024 Austin Pride Parade and Festival, aka the Queer Cabaret, will take place in August and features iconic performances, celebrity appearances, jaw-dropping costumes, parades and more to shower Austin with love and glitter while celebrating diversity and inclusion.
When: Saturday, Aug. 10. The festival begins at 11 a.m. and the parade starts at 8 p.m. at the Texas Capitol and will end at the Congress Avenue Bridge.

What: Founded in 1976, WestFest is an annual event that celebrates the Czech heritage of West, Texas, and includes live entertainment, authentic Czech music, carnival rides, parades, food and an array of family-friendly activities.

What: Celebrate Labor Day weekend with Pride at Pride Galveston! The three-day celebration aims to celebrate unity and diversity and recognize the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community in Galveston. Pride Galveston features a slew of events with the most popular being the Mister & Miss Pride Galveston Pageant on Friday, Aug. 30, and the rain-or-shine Beach Bash on Saturday, Aug. 31.

The event includes concerts by musicians such as Grupo Solido, Los Herederos De Nuevo Leon and Grupo Secreto, pro rodeo action, a grand parade, family-friendly entertainment and more.

Bat Fest
What: Celebrate the wonders of the bats underneath the Congress Avenue Bridge in true Austin style: at a music festival called Bat Fest. The event is in its 18th year and it celebrates live music, food, arts and crafts, family-friendly fun and the iconic Congress Avenue bats! 2024 Bat Fest performers include Ghostland Observatory, Information Society, Paul Aall, Dylan Wheeler, Luniz and Core.
When: Saturday, Sept 7, from 3 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.

In A Pickle Festival 2024
What: In A Pickle Festival is perfect for the festivalgoer who cannot get enough of pickle-flavored things! The event features a wide variety of pickle treats from dill pickles to unique snacks like pickle pizza, pickle snow cones, pickle beer, pickle roasted elote, pickle fried mac and cheese, pickle cotton candy and more.

Float Fest
What: Float Fest will look a tad different in 2024 than it has in the past. This year’s festival will be held at the amphitheater out at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin and attendees will be given discounted off-site floating passes with Texas State Tubes to use once from Sept. 5 to Sept. 15. The music festival will include performances by Lil Wayne, The Kid LAROI, Jessie Murph, Anella Herim and Preston Wayne.
