Bad Bunny helped close out the historic 50th season of Saturday Night Live with a memorable performance on Saturday (May 17), hosted by actress Scarlett Johansson. The 31-year-old Puerto Rican superstar appeared twice during the NBC comedy show’s episode to sing two tracks from his groundbreaking album Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
First, he delivered a powerful rendition of “NUEVAYoL,” flawlessly blending traditional and contemporary Caribbean rhythms. The performance included a striking visual tribute to the iconic 1930s photo of 11 workers having lunch on a steel beam high above Manhattan during the construction of the 30 Rockefeller Plaza building, a fitting nod to the location where SNL is filmed.
Later, he returned to the stage to perform “PERFuMITO NUEVO,” accompanied by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter RaiNao. Set in a graffiti-covered bathroom, the performance began with RaiNao’s smooth and enveloping vocals, before she discovered Bad Bunny sitting in a bathroom stall. The two engaged in a playful flirtation that escalated into a passionate encounter in another stall.
In addition to his musical performances, Bad Bunny – who was making his third appearance as a musical guest on SNL – also appeared in several sketches alongside Johansson. Among the highlights was a scene in a bar where two men bond over their chaotic girlfriends, and a comedic segment where the rapper heroically intervenes as an air traffic controller.
Bad Bunny’s appearance on SNL comes at a pinnacle moment in his career. Debí Tirar Más Fotos, his sixth studio album, recently returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 following its vinyl release. Additionally, the superstar’s summer plans include his highly anticipated month-long residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, which kicks off on July 11 in San Juan and sold 400,000 tickets in just four hours earlier this year.
