Bad Bunny takes viewers on an emotional, surreal journey in his newly released music video for “BOKeTE,” which premiered on Friday (April 25). The melancholic song is part of his chart-topping album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. With a mix of nostalgia and striking vulnerability, the Puerto Rican superstar delves into the pains of heartbreak.
The video begins in an abandoned city where Benito leans against a payphone to speak to a lost love. Throughout the clip, a mysterious figure seems to accompany him – the camera captures moments of him taking photographs of this invisible person by the river, on the beach, and during silent conversations on the payphone. The images become deeply moving when Benito leans in as if to kiss someone, only for the frame to reveal that there is no one by his side.
As the song evolves from a slow, dreamy pop to a more experimental arrangement with a bongo rhythm, the video reaches its emotional peak. In a striking scene, Bad Bunny sits alone at an elegant dining table with a glass of red wine in hand. Looking directly at the camera, he delivers a bittersweet monologue: “Thank God I’m alive, and that’s what matters. I fall in love 515 times, and with you, it’s 516. We have to keep going, fight, and give it our all, and maybe later on, if we fall in love again…”
“BOKeTE” continues Bad Bunny’s visual exploration of nostalgia, pain, and the fleeting beauty of human connection, central themes of DeBÍ TiRAR. The Puerto Rican artist will soon present his new work live during his upcoming residency in Puerto Rico. The 30-date series at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, which begins on July 11, is expected to attract around 200,000 visitors to the island, potentially making it a thriving tourist destination.
