Jenni Rivera’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was found vandalized yesterday (July 8). The iconic banda singer’s children spoke out about the situation. And it has since then been professionally cleaned.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame’s official social media account posted about the shameful act. They wrote: “This morning fans reported that the @JenniRivera star has been vandalized. This is unacceptable! Top send Terrazzo star maker Vince on the way to repair. Thanks to the fans who tried to clean the star up and reported. Note, there are cameras everywhere and a police report has been filed!”
Jenni’s daughter Chiquis, who tied the knot last weekend, replied to the post. She wrote: “I cannot with this. Smh. Thank you for my momma’s fans that took the time to help clean it up. Shame on the person/people who did this.” She also posted an Instagram story in Spanish saying: “How sad… But a THANK YOU to my mother’s fans for taking action and cleaning up the Star before we knew it. We got you Momma.”
Jenni’s other daughter Jacqie also reacted to the vandalism. In an Instagram story, she said in Spanish that she was choosing to be happy. She said she heard the news from a fan from Texas who was visiting the icon’s star. Though she was upset, she said that the fans who helped clean her mother’s star and Selena Quintanilla’s star made her emotional.
“I want to cry because it is so beautiful. They don’t have to but they love her so much and they take it as theirs too. Thank you so much to those fans that took the time to clean up the two stars.” She also posted another Instagram story directly thanking the family who helped clean the star.
La Diva de la Banda’s youngest son Johnny “Cinco” Lopez also posted a photo of him with the star saying “can’t stop her shine 🤙🏻⭐️❤️.”
Quintanilla’s star was also said to have been vandalized. Although the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s official social media account didn’t recognize Quintanilla’s star, fans speculate that it was also part of the damage. An X user commented: “damn Jenni Rivera & Selena Quintanilla star being vandalized it’s just evil miserable like wth.”
The “No Llega el Olvido” singer’s children – Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka, and Michael – received her star on her behalf last month (June 27). Her brother Lupillo Rivera, sister Rosie Rivera, mother Doña Rosa, and father Don Pedro also attended the emotional ceremony.
