Nikki Glaser received the ultimate vote of confidence on Thursday (March 13) when it was announced that she will return as host of the Golden Globes in 2026, 10 months before the ceremony. The comedian made her debut as host of the awards show in January, which aired on CBS and drew in 10.1 million viewers, a 9% increase compared to last year’s audience on Paramount+ and the CBS app.
“Hosting the Golden Globes this year was undoubtedly the most fun I’ve ever had in my career,” Glaser said in a press release announcing the news. “I can’t wait to do it again, and this time in front of The White Lotus team, who will finally recognize my talent and include me in the fourth season as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a mysterious past.”
Glaser made history in January as the first woman to host the Globes solo, following four editions co-hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey (in 2013-15 and 2021), as well as a series of women with male co-hosts over the years, including Sandra Oh (with Andy Samberg in 2019), Faye Dunaway (with Tim Curry in 1994), and Raquel Welch (with Michael York in 1985), among others.
The response on social media to Glaser’s hosting gig seemed overwhelmingly positive, following a ceremony that included jokes about Diddy, Selena Gomez, Wicked, and a sketch with Adam Sandler and Timothée Chalamet that was referenced at this month’s Oscars.
In the press release, Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne commented on the early choice of host: “Nikki Glaser brought a refreshing spark and bold wit to the Golden Globes stage this year. Her sharp humor and fearless presence set the tone for an unforgettable night, making the ceremony feel vibrant and, above all, fun.”
A graphic for the 2026 edition – which shows Glaser ready for battle with golden boxing gloves – indicates that the show will once again be held in January, although it does not include an exact date.
The Golden Globes are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Corporation. PMC is also the parent company of Billboard.
